Jones real estate agency joins national group

BENNINGTON -- A longtime local real estate agent has joined forces with a national firm to provide local residents selling their homes with a wider audience of potential buyers.

Brenda Jones, owner of Brenda Jones Real Estate, said she officially merged with Keller Williams Realty Green Mountain Properties as an agent partner this week. Jones has operated in the Bennington County area for about 16 years.

Jones said Keller Williams Realty Green Mountain Properties, part of Texas-based Keller Williams Realty, will dramatically increase the number of places a local property will be listed to be seen by potential buyers. Jones said she previously listed properties on about 10 sites. The merger will boost that to more than 370, she said.

"I can just get it out there. Instead of just putting it on a handful of sites I can list on 372 sites," Jones said. "I have always concentrated on being really local. What this component does is it brings in the national and international concept."

Keller Williams Realty has put its mark on the real estate industry by offering comprehensive educational resources and technological tools. These advantages, coupled with additional benefits such as profit sharing, have attracted some of the most talented owners, brokers, and agents in the business. With these tools and benefits, the company has continued to grow despite the well-publicized turmoil in the real estate industry, and in 2011 became the 2nd largest real estate company in the U.S., surpassing Century 21.

The company was founded in 1983 and is now the second-largest real estate franchise operation in the United States. It has 701 offices and about 80,000 associates across the U.S. and Canada.

The company said in a statement that the partnership with Brenda Jones Real Estate will provide it with "an immediate and significant presence in the Bennington County market."

"We are truly lucky to have Brenda Jones join us here at Keller Williams Green Mountain Properties," team leader Brian Armstrong said in a statement. "Keller Williams Realty offers its associates unparalleled career growth and learning opportunities in the real estate industry. We know that Brenda will be a great fit and we are excited that she has chosen our office to partner with."

Jones said the partnership, the first in the state, will allow her to grow her business locally. She said she underwent "very strict scrutiny" and qualify in several different categories before the merger was approved.

"I chose Keller Williams Realty because of its reputation for integrity and its agent-centric business model," Jones said. "I want to continue to grow my real estate business, and Keller Williams Realty provides the training and technology that will help me reach my goals."

Jones said the merger will not change how her agency is run.

"What is means for Brenda Jones Real Estate is that I am business as usual. My office structure will not change. I am still going to be running the exact way I have been," she said.
