Real estate sales in Grey-Bruce are riding a four-month high.
According to the Realtors Association Grey Bruce Owen Sound, home sales numbered 226 in April, up 12% from the same month a year ago, and the highest numbers since 2005.
Sales of all property types in April amounted to 289, up 8% from a year ago.
A total of 671 homes have traded hands so far this year — a pace 21% higher than the first four months of 2011.
The average price of homes sold last month was $229,441 — an 8% increase over the average price a year ago. The dollar value of all the homes sold in April was $51.9 million.
There is still a glut of homes on the market, according to the association. Active residential listings last month totalled 2,056, which is up 18% from April, 2011.
